A feared blogger in the city attracts a diverse group of artists. Her sharp tongue spares no one during her salon gatherings. But how much honesty is too much? Her weakness for young artist Sasha is her only soft spot, despite his parasitic lifestyle. She dreams of a life with him, but her honesty seems to leave her alone. Fraulein Agnes is Rebekka Kricheldorf's modern version of Molière’s The Misanthrope, a satirical comedy about a world of pretense where everyone wants to please and shine.
We translated the themes of ‘Dwarskijker’ into a refined, suggestive visual language. With minimal brushstrokes, a face emerges that balances between expression and emptiness. The loose, unfinished forms evoke both sharpness and honesty, as well as distortion and masquerade.
The asymmetrical composition and the contrast between control and spontaneity reflect the tension between sincerity and social pretense. Typography and image maintain a distance, making the discomfort and irony of Rebekka Kricheldorf’s satire palpable.
The chosen typography, with its sharp tone and angular forms, cuts through the image and reinforces the biting nature of the text. Image and typography deliberately keep their distance, emphasizing the unease and irony inherent in Rebekka Kricheldorf’s satire.
