Belgium will again nominate a European Capital of Culture in 2030, following the previous Belgian cities of Mons (2015), Bruges (2002), Brussels (2000) and Antwerp (1993). This website provides extensive information on the national competition to select Belgium's next titleholder, with Bruges, Ghent, Kortrijk, Leuven, Molenbeek and Namur having officially declared their intention to compete.

The competition was organised by the Flemish, French and German-speaking Communities of Belgium, in cooperation with the European Commission. The European Capital of Culture (ECOC) is an initiative of the European Union and is governed by the European Parliament and the Council of Europe. In 2030, Belgium's selected city will carry the European Capital of Culture title alongside cities from Cyprus and a country that is a member of EFTA/EEA, a candidate for EU accession or a potential candidate.

Catapult designed and developed this website on behalf of the Flemish Government, the Walloon Government, and Ostbelgien. It serves as a central hub of information for the competition to select Belgium’s next European Capital of Culture in 2030.
