As a theme for this report we used the different types of cargoes that are traded in the port of Antwerp. The actions, activities, materials, quays, etc. are different depending on cargo. Containers are unloaded and treated differently than, say, fruit, coffee or cars. These differences surprised us and we realized that we could not possibly grasp everything in 1 image, we needed more pictures for that. We went to the port with a digital movie camera and followed the loads from the ship to the quay. Out of this film we used film stills which showed the different aspects: the type of boat, the cranes, the workers, the operations, storage, etc. ..
